"Kalakaru" Pension Scheme
About Kalakaru Scheme
Age 23–55 is a 100% government-guaranteed and protected pension scheme designed for Sri Lankan artists who are not entitled to any state pension. Artists engaged in acting and performing arts, sculpture, singing, painting, carving, drumming, musical instrument playing, various dancing arts, cinema arts, traditional Shanthikarma, decorative arts, thorana arts, calligraphy and writing, literature and entertainment arts, drum and musical instrument production, dance instrument production, woodcraft, scriptwriting and songwriting, melody composition, music creation, cinematography, set design, costume design, dubbing, television arts, street drama, astrology and nakshatra arts may register for this pension scheme.
Benefits of Kalakaru Pension Scheme
Special Benefits
Every artist who registers for the Kalakaru Pension Scheme will receive a free fixed deposit of Rs. 50,000/-. This invested amount along with applicable interest will be paid in one lump sum when the member reaches 60 years of age.

Eligibility
Sri Lankan artists aged 23–55 practicing any of the above-mentioned art forms may register for the Kalakaru Pension Scheme. Registration requires submitting relevant documents proving artistic engagement.
