The “Social Security Award Ceremony 2023 – Matara” in appreciation of the public officers of the Sri Lanka Social Security Board in Matara district, who contributed the most to the pension and benefits system for the people not entitled to a government pension was held at the Auditorium of Matara District Secretariat on 26.10.2023 under the patronage of the Hon. Chairman of the Sri Lanka Social Security Board; Senior Engineer; Mr.P.S.S. Dickwella.

In this event, Grama Niladharies and Samurdhi Development Officers, Economic Development Officers, Divisional Secretaries, Social Service Officers and Administrative Grama Niladharies in Matara District who worked dedicatedly to provide social security entitlement were appreciated. Providing education cut-off benefits for the children who obtained the memberships of the Arassava scheme and passed the Grade 5 Scholarship, G.C.E (Ordinary Level) and G.C.E (Advanced Level) Exams and awarding the pensions for the adults who have completed 60 years of age also happened therein.
